Newark Trade's History

In 1938 when Theodore Wislocky and his son, John, founded Newark Trade Linotypers, Linotype linecasting machines and hand-type composition were commonplace back in the world of printing and typesetting. By 1958, the operation incorporated under the name of Newark Trade Typographers and continued its journey into the future.

In the 1960's, Newark Trade was one of the first typographers to convert from "hot metal" to "cold type" photocomposition. Robert Wislocky, the current president, became the third generation to join the company in 1970 after graduating RIT's College of Printing Management. With an open mind and an insight into future trends in visual communication, he welcomed the challenges ahead and has successfully brought Newark Trade into the forefront of digital graphics.

As desktop publishing and digital printing technologies became state-of-the-art, Newark Trade emerged as a leader in the digital graphics industry, adapting to the ever-changing demands of its clients in this exciting and rapidly growing market. Digital color printing, Variable Information (VI) printing, large format output, digital scanning, design and proofreading were added to Newark Trade.

Newark Trade continues its commitment to high standards, industry excellence in product quality, client communication, service and professional integrity established over 80 years ago.
